Neil Gaiman talks Stardust to The Guardian and The Independent

Detail: With Stardust: the Movie having opened in the UK on October 19th, Neil Gaiman, the author of the original Charles Vess-illustrated story, has found himself in demand in the mainstream media.

On Saturday 13th The Guardian website published an article by Neil in which he explains his inspiration for writing Stardust. And today, Neil has been interviewed by Ian Burrell for The Independent website, discussing the forthcoming BBC World Service radio adaptation of his novel Anansi Boys and the possibility of his writing an original fantasy series for the Beeb in the near(ish) future, among other things.

Four new titles by UK authors due from Subterranean Press

Detail: The latest e-bulletin from US independent publisher Subterranean Press includes details of four new limited edition titles by UK authors that are scheduled for release over the next few weeks.

Imminent publications include: Stephen Gallagher's Plots and Misadventures, Brian Lumley's The Taint and Other Novellas, Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis, and the limited edition of Coraline by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean.

Neil Gaiman in conversation, Criterion Theatre, London, October 2nd

Detail: Neil Gaiman will be appearing for one night only at London's Criterion Theatre, in conversation with Claire Armitstead, Literary Editor of The Guardian, on Tuesday October 2nd, from 6.00 p.m.

The event will be followed by an exclusive signing for ticket holders only, at Waterstone's Piccadilly. In addition, all ticket holders will be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to the premiere of Stardust the movie at the Odeon Leicester Square the following evening, October 3rd. The winning ticket will be drawn by Neil Gaiman at The Criterion.

British Fantasy Awards 2007 - Winners Announced

The Winners of the 2007 British Fantasy Awards were announced during the award ceremony at the culmination of this year's Fantasycon, earlier this afternoon, in Nottingham, UK.

Master of Ceremonies Peter Crowther, of PS Publishing fame, provided the banter and sight-gags as he invited a string of guest presenters (including Chaz Brenchley masquerading as Chris Fowler, Chaz Brenchley as Chaz Brenchley, Mark Morris, Tim Lebbon, Sarah Pinborough, John Grant, Simon Clark, Steven Volk, Stephen Jones, Simon R. Green, Ramsey Campbell, Michael Marshall Smith and Jo Fletcher of Gollancz Books), onto the stage at the Britannia Hotel to announce the winners of the awards to a packed and eager roomful of fantasy and horror fiction fans.

Neil Gaiman to interview Susanna Clarke for Sci-Fi-London

Detail: Neil Gaiman will be conducting an interview with Susanna Clarke on Tuesday September 25th at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, London. Neil and Susanna will be talking about her short fiction collection, The Ladies of Grace Adieu [Amazon], which is published in paperback today by Bloomsbury in the UK. They'll no doubt touch on her debut novel Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell [Amazon] during the course of their conversation as well.

The event is taking place as part of the Sci-Fi-London international festival of science fiction and fantastic film. Tickets are &pound7 (£5 concessions) and are on sale now.
