FP says: "Born in Leeds, Charles knew at the age of six that he wanted to be a Sci-Fi writer, but began his career as a pharmacist. He realized it wasn't the job for him when the police staked out his shop for a second time during an armed robbery. He then did a post-graduate degree in Computer Science and moved up to Edinburgh to start a new career in web consultancy but got into the dotcom boom at the wrong time. Fed up, he started to write full time and has now had huge success in the States, written 15 novels and has several Hugo nominations to his name.

FP says: "Gerard Way is not only world famous as the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, but he is now making a name for himself in the world of comic book writing. The Umbrella Academy is a six issue limited series (released through Dark Horse) which has been meet with extraordinary praise and massive sales. It's not his first steps into the genre, Gerard used to work in the comic industry in New York before forming MCR in 2001. The inside illustrations in The Umbrella Academy are by Gabriel Ba' and the covers are by James Jean."
**Update** November 7th: FP have also asked us to pass on the following message: "PLEASE NOTE: Gerard Way will ONLY be signing copies of The Umbrella Academy. Andy Remic UK mini tour, October - November 2007

SF / thriller writer Andy Remic will be putting in a number of public appearances in the next few weeks to promote his new, high-octane, action-packed novel, War Machine [Amazon], which will be published by Solaris Books on November 5th.
Here's a chunk of War Machine blurb to whet your appetite: "In a time of post-Singularity and FTL, the Helix War has raged across galaxies. "The Dark Crystal celebrates its 25th anniversary with the release of a new two disc DVD special edition. It’s been digitally re-mastered and is packed full of new bonus features. Clint Langley & Pat Mills signing, FP London, September 15th

FP Says: "Clint Langley is started his career in the 90’s and has become a hugely sought-after artist. He has worked on various comic strips, [including] Slaine, Judge Dredd and Warhammer. Pat Mills is one of the founding fathers of 2000AD, and has created some of the comic's longest-running characters, including Slaine, The ABC Warriors and Nemesis The Warlock. His other work also includes writing and developing Judge Dredd and writing the classic World War One war comic Charley's War."
The comics-creating duo will be promoting Slaine: The Book Of Invasions: Volume 3 [Amazon], written by Pat Mills with artwork by Clint Langley, and Minotaur [Amazon], which Clint Langley worked on as a designer and artist and is out on DVD on the 3rd September.

The pair went on to produce the six issue urban fantasy music series Phonogram. Kieron previously worked for PC Gamer but is now freelance and his work can be seen in nearly every videogame magazine. Jamie is about to release a new comic called Suburban Glamour, which he’ll also be signing."
