  • Andrew Heidel writes...
    "Subterranean Press just published my vignette "Boiler Maker" online at subterraneanpress.com; stay tuned, they'll publish my short novella in their next issue of the magazine. Thanks to them getting a review copy of my short story collection Desperate Moon [PS Publishing] they liked my stuff so much they bought two of my unpublished stories." It pays to publicise, people.

  • Alice at Foyles
    On Friday 13th April, Foyles Bookshop in London plays host to Theatre company 2K, who will present their adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic tale as Alice returns to Wonderland for a second time, meeting such well loved characters as Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledee & Tweedledum.

  • Nastier than Fiction...
    True crime is more horrific than any horror novel says Carol Anne Davis whose latest book, Sadistic Killers, has just been published by Summersdale. "One British killer mercilessly flagellated his female victims whilst another mutilated a victim so badly that the policeman who found the body was off work for months. The American sadists were equally pitiless, sometimes setting up customised torture chambers and abusing their victims over many days." Eww.     The Washington Science Fiction Association has launched a new literary award - the WSFA Small Press Award - to honour the work of small presses in promoting and preserving science fiction.

  • Quick Eastercon reminder
    Although the original Eastercon 2007 - Convoy - had to be cancelled due to hotel trouble, the replacement event, Contemplation is still definitely taking place over the Easter weekend in Chester; it's not too late to book, even if you just want to turn up for a day-pass on the Saturday.
