Quicklinks round-up Nov 14th 2006
Posted in: Press Room on 14th November 2006 by UKSFBN admin
A quick selection of links to interesting, quirky and / or amusing stuff we've found, or have been sent; not necessarily news, but hopefully entertaining and informative enough in their own way...
- El Reg has a gentle dig at the first couple of episodes of Torchwood, whilst The Guardian's Charlie Brooker bashes it on the head with a shovel and buries the body.
- In case you haven't seen it already and are that way inclined, the unaired production pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is currently available on YouTube.
- Kirkus Reviews has an short interview with Viggo Mortensen about his fine art publishing imprint, Perceval Press.
- The positively Oracular Pádraig Ó Méalóid is spreading the word that Alan Moore is due to appear in an episode of The Simpsons.
- The University of Manchester is launching a five year study into medieval clothing and aims to produce the world's largest database of garments, styles, trade routes, relevant entymology - you name it - on the subject. Fantasy writers, take note...
- Author Lewis Perdue, who has been trying to bring a law suit against Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown over alleged copyright infringement, is still not being granted the opportunity to argue his case in court, as his appeal against an earlier decision not to allow a hearing has just been thrown out of the U.S. Supreme Court, according to bloomberg.com.
Seen something online you think our readers might enjoy, appreciate, or just find amusing, entertaining and or vaguely intriguing? Feel free to send it on in... see the contact UKSFBN page for details.
