Solaris Press launch titles plus five announced

Solaris Books, the original fiction imprint from Games Workshop's BL Publishing has announced the line-up of titles for their Spring 2007 launch.

Two titles are due in February and March, with another one each in April and May, as follows:

  • Feb 07 - The Solaris Book of New Science Fiction, edited by George Mann. All-new short fiction from some of the biggest names in the genre, including Peter F. Hamilton, Stephen Baxter, Adam Roberts, Mike Resnick & David Gerrold, Paul Di Filippo, Ian Watson and Brian Aldiss.
  • Feb 07 - The Summoner by Gail Martin. Book One of the Chronicles of the Necromancer.
  • Mar 07 - Deadstock by Jeffrey Thomas. A Punktown novel.
  • Mar 07 - Dante's Girl by Natasha Rhodes.
  • Apr 07 - The Touch by Brian Lumley. The first in a brand new Necroscope series.
  • May 07 - Thief With No Shadow by Emily Gee.

Solaris have also announced acquisitions of five other titles. The first is Iron Gods, a novel of first contact by Ashok Banker, author of the Ramayana series.

Numbers two and three are by Texas-based Chris Roberson: Set the Seas on Fire is described as a historical fantasy / napoleonic adventure saga (with zombies) and The Dragon's Nine Sons is the first novel in the Celestial Empire sequence, an "epic, sprawling alternate history sequence in which China rises to world domination in the early days of the 15th century and goes on to conquer the stars".

The last two are both by British sf author Eric Brown. Helix is a novel of deep space exploraiton and alien archaeology, and Kéthani is a novel of first contact and human immortality.
